Woman’s Recovery House

Phoenix Nest

Where Strength Takes Flight & Hope Finds A Home

We are launching a sober living home for women with substance abuse disorders. This initiative, an extension of the well-established Gratitude Club, provides a supportive and accountable environment where women can rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.

Phoenix Nest will provide a substance-free, structured living space tailored to the unique needs of women in recovery. By offering a safe, supportive environment, this residence will empower women to achieve long-term sobriety, independence, and personal growth.

A Crisis Demands Action

In Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, women battling substance use disorders face a devastating reality:

  • 32 fatal drug overdoses in 2023 – an all-time high
  • 55 deaths attributed to alcohol use
  • 74% of county adults report alcohol consumption, far exceeding the state average
  • Over half of women in treatment report childhood trauma histories

Behind every statistic is a woman desperately seeking a path to recovery.

Stop violence against women. Help concept.

Why This Matters

Structured sober living homes offer a crucial level of support and accountability for individuals transitioning from residential treatment. For the women we aim to serve, Phoenix Nest will be more than just a roof over their heads. It will be a vital step in their journey, providing the environment they need to not only maintain sobriety but also to develop the essential life skills and confidence necessary for long-term recovery and independence. We believe that by investing in these women, we are fostering positive change that ripples through families and our community.

We are seeking your support to reach our fundraising goal of $1,000,000. This investment will enable us to provide a transformative living space for women in recovery while creating a sustainable model for growth. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of women striving for a new beginning, offering them a safe haven and the resources they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Every day without Phoenix Nest means women without hope, families without healing, and our community bearing the cost of this ongoing crisis.

  • Emphasis on Growth and Independence: While providing structure, we actively encourage residents to develop essential life skills, seek employment, and progress towards greater self-sufficiency. The goal is to support their transition to less structured living as they move forward in their recovery.
  • Comprehensive Support System: Residents benefit from the consistent presence of a live-in Peer Manager and the guidance of a Supervising Manager. This team works together to offer support, accountability, and facilitate communication with families.
  • Integration with Recovery Practices: We believe in a holistic approach to recovery, requiring residents to attend 12-Step Fellowship meetings (or approved alternatives) and participate in clinical services such as Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) or therapy, particularly in the initial stages of their residency.
